Sunday 1st of January 2017 - Day one!
Establisment and planning
Back on Christmas Eve I ended up watching a film on Netflix entitled "Minimalism: A Documentary About the Important Things" and it really opened my eyes to a few things. Since then my mind has kept going back to what was discussed in the film. Last Friday I was in my room trying to tidy it and sort spaces for all the presents I received at Christmas and I realised JUST how much stuff I had that I didn't need and didn't/hardly used! So I started looking into living a simpler life. My mind is always a wreak (I'm a chronic overthinker and have despression and anxiety), I'm constantly tired and feel like I never have enough time to get things done and atg the same time feel like I do nothing productive with my spare time.
The plan is to simplify my life as much as I can over this year so I have less distractions and more time and energy to do the things that matter to me in my life. I spend so mjuch of my tkime currently tdying, organising, and trying to get on top of things (to no end!) and I also waste soooo much money on stuff I don't actually need and that dosesn't bring anything to my life.
So I am starting simply, the plan is to set myself small goals every week and month to slowly achieve simplicity. The first task I'm setting myself is Project 333 and the idea behind it is that you pick out 33 pieces of clothing
and wear just those for the next 3 months. The 33 items include
clothing, accessories, jewellery, outerwear and shoes but doesn't
include your wedding ring or another sentimental piece of jewellery that
you never take
off, underwear, sleep wear, in-home lounge wear, and workout clothing.
I've started planning out the 33 items I'll be using for the next 3 months and hope to finish that tomorrow and will do an update of what I have picked tomorrow! I'd like to update this everyday, if I'm able, with different things I've done, read, and worn (from my capsuel wardrobe!) so we'll see if I can stick to that too!
That's all for tonight, updates tomorrow on what progress I've made with Project 333 and anything else I've read into.
